Vitiligo is an idiopathic disorder characterized by the acquired loss of melanocytes, which results in hypochromic and achromic plaques in the skin and/or hair. The disorder

can be induced by any stressful event and, from a clinical perspective,may present in localized areas of the body, in segments,in the mucous membranes or over large parts of the body.
